Spinning is definitely not an easy class. Throughout the semester, we learned the different types of terrains, safety, and vocabulary we needed to know to get the most out of the class. My instructor, Denise, always guided us through the different workout phases, warm-up, flat road, hill climbs, sprints, jumps, and of course cool-downs with stretching. About half-way through the semester, after my class had gotten a hang of what was expected of us, we had a project due. This project was probably one of the most enjoyable assignments I've had to do for homework thus far. Each student created their own spinning playlist to play and instruct the class for one day. Our playlist had to have a minimum of 45 minutes worth of songs to play for our 50 minute class period. Based off of the different types of spinning terrains there are, (hill climbs, flat roads, sprints, jumps, ect.) we were able to pick any songs we wanted that fit the requirements. After turning in the assignment, my class took turns having each student instruct the class. While creating my playlist, I learned a lot about music in general. Our songs had to be within a certain amount of beats per minute or revolutions per minute in order to satisfy the project requirements. I took a lot of time to research songs that would be fun to workout to, but still fill the requirements for my grade. Not only did I get to have fun making a playlist, I was able to learn a little bit about music too. I am not the best at getting up in front of people to present, although, I had a fun time instructing my project to the class. I felt comfortable and had a good time working in front of my peers. I also enjoyed listening to my peers' projects as well. I can say I found a bunch of new workout songs I can use. If I ever needed to create another playlist for a different spinning class, I would choose more of my favorite songs. What's more fun than working out and listening to your favorite songs at the same time? This class was great and I learned a lot of new things from it. Attached at the bottom, is a copy of my spinning final project.
